About IDACORP, Inc.
About IDACORP, Inc.
Idaho Power served approximately 664,000 retail customers across southern Idaho and eastern Oregon in 2025, generating $1.81 billion in total electric utility operating revenues, of which $1.56 billion came from retail sales. About 95 percent of retail revenue originated from Idaho customers. The company's generation in 2025 was 52% hydropower from 17 Snake River projects with combined nameplate capacity of 1,818 MW, 27% natural gas-fired, and 21% from jointly-owned coal and gas thermal plants.
Idaho Power earns revenue through cost-of-service retail rates authorized by the Idaho Public Utilities Commission and the Oregon Public Utility Commission, with rate design intended to provide an opportunity to recover prudently incurred costs and earn a reasonable return. In 2025, residential revenue was $708 million, commercial $394 million, industrial $271 million, and irrigation $198 million; wholesale energy sales added $56 million. Power cost adjustment mechanisms in both Idaho and Oregon jurisdictions defer or return most differences between actual net power supply costs and amounts in current rates, mitigating earnings exposure from hydropower variability and fuel price swings though not the associated cash flow impact. Natural gas for Idaho, Wyoming, and Nevada plants is transported under long-term agreements with Williams-Northwest Pipeline, Williams-Mt. West Overthrust Pipeline, and Tallgrass-Ruby Pipeline. Idaho Power filed general rate cases in Idaho in 2023, 2024, and 2025 and in Oregon in 2023, reflecting ongoing infrastructure investment and the regulatory lag inherent in cost-of-service ratemaking.

Idaho Power converted Jim Bridger generating units 1 and 2 from coal to natural gas in spring 2024 and plans to convert the remaining two Jim Bridger units by 2030, while conversion of North Valmy unit 2 is expected to be completed by mid-2026. The coal supply agreement with BCC for Jim Bridger runs through 2027. In February 2026, Idaho Power entered a definitive agreement to sell its Oregon electric distribution business and associated assets to OTEC. The IPUC and OPUC must approve any adjustments to plant retirement dates, and costs incurred during plant conversions may not be fully recoverable if regulators determine they were imprudently incurred.
