About DoorDash, Inc.
About DoorDash, Inc.
DoorDash's three Marketplaces — DoorDash, Wolt, and Deliveroo — operated across more than 40 countries as of December 31, 2025, serving over 56 million monthly active users and hosting more than 35 million paid, trial, and partnership membership accounts across DashPass, Wolt+, and Deliveroo Plus. Over 9 million people earned income through the platform in 2025, collectively earning more than $20 billion, supported by over 31,400 employees worldwide.
DoorDash earns revenue from three constituencies: merchants pay percentage-based transaction fees for services including demand generation, order fulfillment, and payment processing; consumers pay per-order delivery and service fees, with membership programs reducing per-transaction charges; and advertisers pay to reach consumers through sponsored placements. The company also offers a Commerce Platform (Drive) providing white-label fulfillment, online ordering tools, branded mobile apps, and tableside payments for merchants on their own channels. In local food delivery — the largest segment of the business — the company competes with Amazon, Uber Eats, Prosus, Delivery Hero, and merchant-owned ordering platforms. Merchant agreements are generally terminable on 7 or 30 days' notice. Dashers, classified as independent contractors in most geographies, choose if, when, and where to work with each task.

The classification of over 9 million Dashers as independent contractors rather than employees exposes DoorDash to reclassification risk across all operating jurisdictions. Under U.S. federal or state law, or the laws of non-U.S. jurisdictions, a reclassification ruling could materially increase labor costs and alter the platform's cost structure. California and other jurisdictions have already enacted minimum wage mandates that apply to gig-economy workers, and the 10-K identifies changes in immigration and labor law as factors that may reduce the available Dasher pool — a scenario where constrained Dasher supply could impair fulfillment capacity and consumer experience simultaneously.
