About Camden National Corporation

About Camden National Corporation

Camden National Corporation held $7.0 billion in total assets at December 31, 2025, after completing its acquisition of Northway Financial in January 2025, which added $971.9 million of deposits, $1.2 billion of assets and 17 New Hampshire branches. The bank operates 72 branches across Maine and New Hampshire, is subject to primary oversight from the OCC and the Federal Reserve, and derives 79% of total revenue from net interest income.

Camden National, through its national bank subsidiary Camden National Bank, extends loans to consumer, institutional, municipal, non-profit and commercial customers and funds that lending primarily through customer deposits, supplemented by wealth management, trust, brokerage and insurance fees earned through Camden National Wealth Management and Camden Financial Consultants, offered via LPL Financial. Commercial real estate and commercial loans made up 52% of total loan balances at December 31, 2025. The company has grown at a five-year compounded annual asset growth rate of 7%, split between $219.2 million of organic growth and $1.2 billion of acquired assets from Northway, and continues to evaluate further bank acquisitions in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

Show full overview

Camden National's loan portfolio remains structurally tied to Northern New England: even after the Northway acquisition diversified the geographic base, over 50% of loans are still concentrated among Maine borrowers, down from 68% at the end of 2024, with elevated exposure in Cumberland, Kennebec, Knox and York counties. A regional downturn in these markets, whether from tariff-driven stress on Maine industries exposed to Canadian trade or a broader Northern New England slowdown, could weigh on loan performance more than it would for a more geographically diversified bank.
