1. What We Collect

TrendMatrix collects minimal data to operate the service:

  • Anonymous usage cookie — A randomly generated identifier stored in your browser to distinguish returning visitors from new ones. It contains no personal information.
  • Page view events — Which pages you visit and when, used to understand which features are useful. No IP addresses are stored in our database.
  • Email address (only if you subscribe) — Used solely to send the daily market brief. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email.

2. What We Do NOT Collect

  • No real names, phone numbers, or physical addresses
  • No financial data from users (no portfolio, brokerage, or trading information)
  • No payment information (TrendMatrix is free)
  • No advertising identifiers or cross-site tracking

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Usage data: to understand which stocks and features are popular, improve the product, and measure growth
  • Email: to send the daily market brief you opted into. No marketing emails, no third-party sharing, no selling of email addresses

4. Data Storage & Security

Data is stored on a dedicated server (Hetzner, Helsinki, Finland) in encrypted databases. The server is secured with SSH key authentication, fail2ban, and HTTPS via Cloudflare. No data is stored on third-party cloud platforms except as noted below.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process data on our behalf:

  • Cloudflare — CDN, DDoS protection, SSL. Cloudflare may log IP addresses temporarily per their privacy policy.
  • PostHog — Privacy-focused product analytics. Used to understand feature usage. No personally identifiable information is sent.
  • Resend — Email delivery for the daily market brief (only if subscribed).
  • TradingView — Embedded interactive charts. TradingView has its own privacy policy that applies when using chart widgets.

6. Data Retention

  • Page view events: raw data retained for 14 days, then aggregated (non-identifiable) and kept indefinitely
  • Anonymous usage cookie: expires after 2 years if not renewed by a return visit
  • Email address: retained until you unsubscribe, then permanently deleted within 30 days

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your data — contact us and we will provide what we have
  • Delete your data — contact us and we will remove your cookie identifier and email from our systems
  • Unsubscribe from emails at any time via the link in every email
  • Opt out of analytics by blocking cookies or using a browser extension like uBlock Origin

These rights apply regardless of your location (GDPR, CCPA, and equivalent regulations).

8. Children

TrendMatrix is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

9. Changes

We may update this policy as the service evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect any changes.
